"only you can prevent forest fires"

After seeing Clancy's comment asking about the fires, I thought I would let you (at most 5) people know what's up... So far things are going pretty well for me. The fires got about 5 or so miles away the other day, but there is freeway between here and there that would have most likely stopped it, so I wasn't too worried. Monday was really smokey and it rained ash for quite a while, but today the air was a lot cleaner, and the headlines said they are starting to get a hold on things, so hopefully it will all be over soon. For a cool map of the situation, check this out. It's updated pretty frequently too, so I've been using that a lot to see if I need to evacuate or anything. It's far from over yet, but unless another fire starts in the middle of everything, I think I should be fine. I hope the other people can fare as as well as I have.

Where'd it go?

Man has it been busy lately. I have absolutely no idea where the last several weeks have gone. Just boom, gone. My head is absolutely spinning. Classes are going well, the new house is great... No complaints, but man, I can't even remember two weeks ago. Mostly I've just been studying lately. School school school... Last weekend I celebrated my birthday. Yay, another meaningless year older. I don't really have anything to say, but I figured I should make an attempt to blog.

Point of interest: Recently a friend of mine devised an awesome way to determine if a girl is 'of age' or not - ask her what her favorite cartoons were when she was little! If she says something like animaniacs or the smerfs, you know she's cool. If she says the care bears, she's old enough, but you have to decide the cool factor yourself. If she says Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, or Dragonball Z, you immediately know that A) she's not cool, at all, and B) she's definitely not old enough. It's golden! Never again will you have to wonder :)
