I want my straight rights!

I read about all this a couple weeks ago, but haven't really had a moment to blog it yet.

So ok, I think by now we all know that the current administration absolutely HATES everything about sex. Sex-ed, safe-sex, definately sexual confusion, and probably plain ol' sex itself. Now this I do not understand, except that maybe they just aren't getting any and so don't want anybody else to either. But anyway, Russell Shorto of the NY Times Magazine wrote quite a lengthy article about all this crap a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty interesting.

Another intersting article (this one more concise than the last), once again by The Times, states, "The administration's philosophy seems to be that the best way to discourage risky behavior is to take away the safety net. Hmmm. I suppose that if we replaced air bags with sharpened spikes on dashboards, people might drive more carefully -- but it still doesn't seem like a great idea." (Nicholas D. Kristof)

Hopefully the links work...

The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
