Correction:

It would appear that one of my statements yesterday was misinterpreted, and I would like to clarify. In my complaint about the Pope I was in no way wishing that the insurgents in Iraq carry out an attack (after all, many of the people over there are my personal friends). What I was making a statement about is the apparent singular focus of the media. Once they (reporters/editors) have their sights on a particular story, all else in the news will be abandoned. Example: First we had the Jacko deluge, then we were drowned in Teri Schiavo, lately it's been the Pope... Meanwhile, all kinds of news stories that quite possibly will have a monumental impact on our lives are being ignored. Basically, I'm saying, "Who really gives a flying *@#! about the pope?" We all know it happened, and now I want to move on and actually hear what's happening in our world.

Its in times like this where we need to turn to The Onion for all of our news.
